Work
Alila Zero Waste to Landfill
Four Alila hotels in Bali set out to stop sending waste to landfill. The work was operational, measured, and done with partners.
Context
Hotels in Bali were paying more to dump waste, guests could see the pollution, and a claim without a working system would not hold.
The problem
How to measure and divert waste on site so “zero to landfill” is an operation, not a slogan.
Role
Program design and delivery through IDPM, with Alila and on-site partners. Credit is shared.
Approach
On-site recovery, measurement, and day-to-day operations across the four Bali properties.
Partners
Alila Hotels & Resorts and the on-site delivery team.
Evidence
- Alila’s public announcement of the program
- Independent coverage in the trade press
Result
Alila reported zero waste to landfill across the four Bali properties. Exact diversion figures stay with those sources.
What we do not claim
This was a team result. We do not claim a sole delivery credit or unpublished numbers.
Why it matters
The same discipline sits under later conservation-accounting work: measure what you divert, then stand behind the number.
